The Wondrous Mind
Good morning!
I am an early riser. The birds stir me awake, bringing me out of my slumber. Yesterday I went outside to look at the sky, to take in the ambiance of the morning. A cockerel sounding its alarm could be heard in the distance. The local bald eagle swooped low over the lake searching for an easy catch. The swifts diving and soaring past my head, chasing each other in play. A muskrat leaving a gentle ripple in its trail as it swims out to explore the morning.
The backdrop to this is a pink sky. The sun not quite breaking over the mountains. The steam rising from the ground, releasing the moisture that had collected from the night's rainfall.
As I took in the beauty of the morning I was reminded how we are all connected to the same energy that creates this wonderful world we live in.
The wonderful, infinite, glorious energy that makes the earth turn and the sunrise, and gives the birds the knowledge of how to fly, is the same intelligence we are sourced from. This universal intelligence supports and fuels us as equally as all other living things. It is the energy that propels everything, both the form and the formless.
“Everyone in this world shares the same innate source of wisdom, but it is hidden by the tangle of our own misguided personal thoughts”. Sydney Banks, The Missing Link.
There is so much potential within us, all we have to do is choose how we want to use that energy. We have all we need to craft our experience. We get to choose how we respond to the natural ebb and flow of life. We can resist it, struggle, and stress and wish the tide didn't go out. Or we can choose to have faith that it will return. We might not know when, but when we trust everything will work out, then our experience of the low points will be eased. Trust comes when we remember that we are supported. There is wisdom and a knowing deep within us, that is available at all times. When you quieten your busy mind, you will hear it. It is there.
The next time you encounter adversity, see it as an opportunity to practice being aware of what is happening and remembering you have a choice in how you respond. Do you want to focus on the thoughts that generate frustration or fear? Or point your attention toward the opportunity to not get caught up in the reaction? To try a different response. What is the lesson here? How might I help this situation? How can I serve others at this moment?
When you are feeling a little lost or uninspired step outside and observe the intelligence that is everywhere. In the ingenuity of human design and the creativity of nature.
Wishing you a wondrous day.
